Monday again!!!

The weekend went so fast! The roofer was here on Saturday and Sunday and got a good start on the tearing off and replacement of the roof. He had to leave it open on Saturday night, and I was a nervous wreck. I was so afraid it was going to rain. But, the Gods were with us, it was a beautiful cool night and Sunday was a gorgeous day. He is back today to continue on.

I spend a lot of the weekend working on my canvas project. I love working on canvas. Not really sure why, but I got several hours on it. Not much to show, but I still have not figured out the picture thing. Going to check it out more on the next free evening I have.

I knitted on my dishcloth, finished the first one, and then discovered I had made a mistake that shows up like a sore thumb. Why is it always after I have bound off that I discover them. Anyway, left it alone and will use that one myself. Have next one on the needles now.

Tonight is S n B night at my local yarn shop....going to be exploring yarn for a shawl that I purchased the pattern for. It is called Forest Canopy Shoulder Shawl. I'm going to make it a little larger than called for. Have no idea what I am going to knit it in.... Last week I went with every intention of getting yarn for a sweater, but they didn't have what I needed..either color or quantity. I hate to order yarn and wait for it. I like instant gratification.

Well enough for now...will report what I have ended up with if anything.

My Saturday

What a day!
My husband had to be at meetings today, so I have an alone day. Got up at 8:30, had breakfast, checked email and then had a shower. Did my normal routine on Saturday morning by taking the garbage and recycling to our recycling station. I don't know how it ended up being my job, but I don't really mind it. There is a certain amount of satisfaction from getting rid of stuff!!!
Went to the store after that, got some supplies for tomorrow's dinner and some pop. After I got home, decided it was time to vacuum the whole house. Boy, did I pick up a lot of dog hair again. I think I get more dirt and dog hair up with my cheap vacuum cleaner than the whole house system.

Now that my work for the day is done except for doing a few loads of laundry inbetween, I am going to get out my stitching. I discovered last night the whole center angel section is down 1 row too many. I'm just going to fudge this mistake, I have too much done. What concerns me is that I counted out 4 or 5 times before I started this section. What is wrong with me.....I do know how to count to 1000000......whatever.

Oh well, it looks good anyway. Oh forgot to say i made a special dessert for tonight and tomorrow. Banana split cake...mmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnn good!

Happy stitching everyone.

And it is still raining

Well, here it is, Wednesday and it is still raining off and on.
Our roof started leaking in a couple places. We knew we would have to replace it in the next couple years, but the rainstorm moved up the date a bit. We had about 3 inches of water on the surface ground at one point. The lake went up a lot!!!!!! Some of the unlucky people down the road had their docks come apart and start floating away. No loose boats that I could see. The lake above us got so much water in it in such a short period of time, that the green stuff (grunge, mold, whatever it is) and the loose logs and timbers came floating down into our lake. A lot of it ended up in front of our place. It looks disgusting, we are going to have to work on it this weekend.
As for my knitting, I ended up not doing a single stitch on it. I started my canvas project and got addicted to how it was coming out. I also did work on my Christmas Mystery cross stitch sampler. I decided to set aside the specialty stitches for now and just work on the easy cross stitching. I was a much happier camper.
Well, guess that is all for tonight. I'm a little tired and still have to do some laundry.
Happy stitching and knitting everyone!

What a weekend so far.

Joanie's Place
It has been raining nonstop since midnight last night. There is water on the surface, but so far we are ok. The lake is up considerably....going to keep an eye on it.
The neighbors are having their annual Big Bash, band, tents, BIG pig roast. For some reason we have never been invited!
Well, i'm going to enjoy my days off anyway.
My activities are going to include my knitting-i'm on my second pink scarf for Breast Cancer survivers, third preemie baby hat, and also going to cast on for a Christmas present for one of my sisters ( I have 5 sisters....so it is a guessing game who gets what in the end.). Also, almost forgot that I have a Mason Dixon Knitting warshrag on the needles too.
Wow, I go from not knitting for almost 10 years to all these projects....this is what I call diversivication (spelling?).
Almost forgot I have a canvas project I want to start also. It is a huge sampler that my EGA group did before I joined. I was given a used pattern booklet and can't wait to start that.
I also have my Christmas Mystery to work on. I have discovered that I HATE some specialty stitches-my husband can tell you exactly what ones that I curse about the most.

Well, enough for today....gonna go get my needles smokin!!!!

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend.
